World Family English Holdings Ltd., our parent company, is headquartered in Hamilton, Bermuda. Our subsidiaries World Family English Ltd. and World Family Innovations Ltd., also based in Bermuda, focus on product development and innovation. Other subsidiaries are headquartered in our principal markets Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong/Macau. We are a closely held company owned by approximately 250 individual shareholders in key executive, management, consulting, and sales relationships with the Company.
Our History
Beginning in the 1970s, our products, services, and language learning methodology evolved from our long association with Anne R. Dow, Director of Harvard University’s Department of ESL Programs. Anne and her team of highly skilled linguists and developers worked exclusively with World Family to develop our flagship product, Disney World of English, our proprietary Play Along! program for 0 to 2-year-old children, and our World Family Club services supporting learners from 0 to 12 years and older. Through the decades, we have invested more than $100,000,000 (in current US dollars) in the development and ongoing enhancement of our learning programs, and many millions more in our World Family Club services content.
